Marketplace Platform Development
A marketplace is not a directory with payments bolted on. It has to hold money safely between two strangers, prove both are who they claim to be, show each side what is happening in real time, and give your team somewhere to intervene when it goes wrong. We build all four.

What makes a marketplace harder than a normal web app?
A marketplace has to make two strangers trust each other enough to exchange money. That is a different problem from selling your own product, and it is where most marketplace builds come apart. Payment cannot simply go to the seller when someone clicks buy, because the buyer has not received anything yet. So money has to be held, released on a condition, and refunded when the condition fails.
Identity is the second half of the same problem. If anyone can list, the market fills with people who should not be in it, and the first bad experience costs you both sides of the transaction. Verification has to happen before someone can transact, and it has to be light enough that genuine users do not abandon it. Those two requirements pull against each other and the balance is a judgement call, not a setting.
The third thing, which buyers of marketplace builds almost never ask for and always end up needing, is somewhere for your own team to stand. Orders stall. Payments fail halfway. Two people disagree about what was delivered. An operations console that can see a transaction, read its history and intervene is not an admin afterthought; it is the difference between a support problem and a refund.
Worth thinking about before you commission a marketplace
- Which side of your market is harder to attract, and what does that cost?
- At what exact moment has a job been delivered, and who decides?
- What verification will your suppliers actually complete without dropping out?
- Who on your team handles a dispute, and what powers do they need?
